Job Description: Internship
We are currently looking for a Nanoparticle Fabrication Intern to play a critical role in nanoparticle fabrication, synthesis, and characterization. We are also seeking a Cell/Molecular Biology Intern to assist the Liquidia Biology team with various tasks and projects. Full and part-time internships are available for spring and summer 2010. Compensation will be provided based on experience.
Nanoparticle Fabrication Internship Description:

Work in a hands-on laboratory environment to assist senior scientists with production, manufacturing, and analysis of nanoparticles |
 |
Assist in project research and experimental design |
 |
Conduct laboratory experiments and analyze nanoparticle products |
 |
Test, produce, prototype, and assist with new product development of nanoparticles |
 |
Operate and maintain production and laboratory equipment for nanoparticles processing |
 |
Other duties as required for maintenance and upkeep of the laboratory environment |
Nanoparticle Fabrication Internship Requirements:
 |
Bachelors or Masters degree (received or in progress) in chemistry, biology, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering or related field. |

Creativity, attention to detail, strong analytical skills |
 |
Hands-on laboratory experience beyond class requirements |
 |
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team of scientists |
 |
Undergraduate students are encouraged to apply |
Cell/Molecular Biology Internship Description:
 |
Assist with design and execution of key experiments for analysis of nanoparticle therapeutic agents (e.g. intracellular localization of drugs by florescent and electron microscopy) |
 |
Conduct in vitro and in vivo studies to analyze nanoparticle binding, uptake, internalization, and toxicity |
 |
Analyze and interpret data from in vitro and in vivo studies |
 |
Present results in team discussions and written technical reports |
Cell/Molecular Biology Internship Requirements:
 |
B.S. (received or in progress) in cellular biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, pharmacology or related field |
 |
Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply |
 |
Academic or industry laboratory experience |
 |
Internship or full-time experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry (preferred) |
 |
Cell culture and microscopy experience |
 |
In vitro cell-based assay development, including cell binding and pharmacological assays |
 |
Experience with nucleic acid therapeutics including siRNA (preferred) |
